I’ve spent the past decade+ working with startup and enterprise companies alike, building communities and products that people love. I care first and foremost about solving difficult problems and delivering ROI (and having some fun along the way).

Community

  • We’ll work together to get a full picture of your organization’s business objectives, problems you’re trying to solve, and where your community currently stands. We’ll build out a plan that drives impact across the entire organization, and get buy-in from all of the key stakeholders.

  • Establishing the right rules at the right time is crucial for any person or company that has an online community space. I work with you to craft scalable rules that will positively shape your community now and into the future.

  • Making it as easy as possible for everyone at the organization to understand the purpose of the community and how to best participate is key to ongoing success. I’ll create internal playbooks that you can use with each team at your organization to ensure you’re all making the most of your community.

  • I’ll be there as long as you need to ensure that everything we’ve been working towards goes according to plan. And if it doesn’t, I’m right there with you to do a retrospective and take those learnings to move forward smoothly.

  • Navigating the rules and regulations of the online space can be intimidating and nuanced. I will keep you compliant and on top of the ever-changing international laws so you don’t open your company to unnecessary risk.

Programs

  • Whether in-person or online, events are a powerful tool for connecting and engaging with your customers and community members. I’ll build and scale your event strategy to create strong bonds with your members.

  • A well-crafted content strategy can be make or break for a community’s success. We’ll create a plan that makes your organization a thought leader and empowers your members to contribute.

  • As with product development, community building benefits from a thorough process of experimentation and iteration. We’ll create MVPs and test what programs resonate with customers and members so you can make the most informed decisions about what to invest in.

  • Each community is unique, as are the types of programs that will resonate best with your members. Mentorship, Customer Advocacy, Top Contributors, Chapters; you name it, we’ll build it.

Training & Education

  • I’ve mentored countless Community pros and teams over the years, and will serve as an extension of your team or a support system for individuals.

  • We’ll dive into typical situations that can arise in a community setting and what you can do in response. In-house community management and volunteer moderation are both fair game.

  • Getting buy-in from other teams can be difficult regardless of what team you’re on. I’ll help coach your team through working collaboratively and understanding the needs and motivations of other teams.

  • Rolling out change at any organization is difficult. I’ll set you up for success by walking your team through a variety of scenarios and how to communicate that internally and externally.

Other Fun Things

  • Things move fast on the internet, and many times you are faced with new, time-sensitive situations where you don’t know what steps to take. I will guide you through the decision-making process and work through various scenarios to ensure you gracefully respond to any situation that may arise.

  • If you are just starting out and don’t have a product team, I will help build out resources for feature development, roadmaps, and strategies to bring order to the many ideas you are looking to bring to life.

  • I’ve been a guest lecturer, keynote speaker, emcee, panelist, and podcast host over the past few years. I’m still new to this in the grand scheme of things, but I really enjoy getting groups of people bought into an idea and thinking about it months later.
